This is NOT the post I had hoped to share today. My plans didn’t work out for that one….but hopefully next weekend. 🤞🏻
And, please remember, I’m still working out the bugs. Tonight’s challenge is to share pictures….and to post from my phone instead of my laptop. We will see how that goes. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I know this weekend is Independence Day, but today I’m just writing about the colors red and blue.

My boys are 19 months apart so have pretty much always been doing/wearing the same things. That and I loved to dress them like twins. 👦🏻 👦🏻 And sometimes it was hard to keep their things separate. Most things that have a color come in at least red and blue. So, my kids got “their own personal colors.” Brett always got red and Jake always got blue. Sippy cups, Pajamas, Game boys, sleeping bags, whatever it was, that was their color.

Over the years they have just naturally drifted in that direction. A couple of years ago I took a picture of them with Kevin on Father’s Day and laughed when I saw that Jake had on a blue shirt….and Brett had on red. And then I realized that even their colleges reflected those colors. Brett went to the University of Alabama who has crimson red as its color. And Jake went to University of Alabama Huntsville, which has royal blue as its color.

The scrapbooks that I made for them a couple of weeks ago…Red for Brett and Blue for Jake. I’m sure they aren’t doing this intentionally — probably not even aware that they are even doing it. But it amuses me greatly.
I am also deeply amused that I didn’t realize until just this minute that in the baby jammies photo that the boys have on the wrong colors. 😂😂😂 This was taken when Jake was just a few months old and apparently before they had their assigned colors. But never fear, Jake eventually got Brett’s hand me down blue pajamas….and Brett got new red ones. ❤️💙

And just for fun and because this weekend is the 4th of July I’m also sharing a picture of my favorite little firecrackers wearing both colors. 🇺🇸
